Where do you inject Arixtra?
Fondaparinux is administered by deep subcutaneous injection while the patient is lying down. Sites of administration should alternate between the left and the right anterolateral and left and right posterolateral abdominal wall.
Can Arixtra be given in the arm?

How do you give a Flexon injection?
It is given as directed by your doctor, usually twice a day (every 12 hours). If this medication is injected into a vein, it should be given over 5 minutes while you are lying down. Continue to lie down for 5 to 10 minutes after the injection to reduce dizziness and lightheadedness.

Is Arixtra a heparin product?
Fondaparinux (Arixtra) is an anticoagulant that shares the same pentasaccharide sequence as UFH and LMWH for the binding to antithrombin, however it has no extra chain and thus, is not considered a heparin product. It is also known to not cause HIT, as seen with UFH and LMWH.
