The Monastery Barracks can be found after The Outer Cloister. This is a big area that doesn’t have any subsequent levels. It’s important to note it since you will find the path to the Jail here.
How do I get to the monastery barracks?
Exit the Rogue Encampment and:
- Pass through the Blood Moor.
- Pass through the Cold Plains, Stony Fields, Underground Passage, Dark Wood, Black Marsh, and Tamoe Highland on your way to the Monastery.
- In the Monastery, pass through the Monastery Gate and Outer Cloister to reach the Barracks.
Where is the Horadric Malus in the monastery barracks?
Once you reach the Rogue Monastery, continue through the Outer Cloister and into the Barracks. The Horadric Malus is located somewhere within the Barracks, guarded by a demon known as The Smith. Take note that the difference in difficulty between outside the monastery and inside it is vast.

The Horadric Malus can only be retrieved from its stand by a character that is at least level 8 and has not yet completed the quest. The Horadric Malus also cannot be picked up until after Deckard Cain has been rescued from Tristram.
Where is andariel’s lair?

Andariel can be found on the final floor of the Catacombs. The entrance to the Catacombs is located inside the Cathedral, which is accessible from the Inner Cloister. Andariel is nearly always surrounded by groups of various monsters, so it is recommended that you dispatch them before doing battle with her.
