What is special about Whimsyshire?
Whimsyshire is the Diablo III Secret Level, a humorous area that’s a direct homage to the Diablo II Secret Cow Level. It requires the Staff of Herding to enter, a special object that can only be assembled from multiple legendary materials and a special crafting recipe.
How do you get to Whimsyshire?
Whimsyshire can be accessed in both Adventure and story mode. If necessary, change quest and select Act I (e.g. “A Shattered Crown” or later). To get to Whimsyshire, take the The Old Ruins waypoint and head back northwest towards Cain’s house.
What is the difference between Whimsydale and Whimsyshire?
Well, Whimsydale is an extremely similar realm — in fact, it’s the exact same tileset. But while Whimsyshire requires you to assemble the Staff of Herding, Whimsydale requires you to murder a Goblin. That’s right, only in Whimsydale can you murder a unicorn and get cool glowing wings.

Does Whimsyshire have good drops?
From my experience doing nightmare and hell Whimsyshire a few times now, I find that the drop quality is always the equivilant of the next Act up. So Normal Whimsyshire is the equivilant of Act I nightmare drops. I have found higher level gems than I can find in all of the difficulty in that difficulties Whimsyshire.

How rare is a rainbow Goblin?
She has roughly a 1% chance to spawn and is guaranteed to drop the wings on death. This is the rarest item in Diablo 3 and the main reason we’re hunting Rainbow Goblins. Super Awesome Sparkle Cake (and other unique monsters) drop Spectrum, the Rainbow Sword, while Piñatas and Happy Clouds drop The Horadric Hamburger.

They drop from Princess Lilian in Whimsydale (not in Whimsyshire). When used, they apply or remove a pair of butterfly wings with deep reflection of a cosmic sky. When obtained, they can be added to the Wardrobe.
Where is the liquid rainbow in Diablo 3?

This location was added in patch 2.1. This zone can spawn all the same Unique Monsters as Whimsyshire, with the exception of Sir William.
Is there a rainbow goblin in every game?
They very rarely produce a legendary item, but are good sources of rare items, crafting materials, and gems. Rainbow Goblins spawn in all areas of the game, including Nephalem Rifts where they may be part of larger Goblin packs. Like all Goblins, they will not appear in Greater Rifts, though.
