What does CLEET training consist of?
The academy’s Basic course for new peace officers consists of 600 hours of training in a variety of areas. Criminal and traffic law, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, first aid, human relations, and ethics are some of the major areas of instruction during this course.
Can you get CLEET certified online?
CLEET offers continuing education classes online and also advertises classroom CE courses available at police departments, sheriff offices and state agencies. Peace officers who want to take extra steps in their career can pursue the next two levels of certification – intermediate and advanced.
How long is CLEET certification?
CLEET says you’ll spend 14.5 weeks taking 576 hours of training, starting at 7 a.m. and ending the day at 10 p.m. The center includes a firing range, a driver-training course and special equipment such as “skid cars,” which simulate ice and other dangerous driving conditions.
How do I renew my CLEET license?
The Security Guard license issued by CLEET is a three year, renewable license. The license expires three years from the date it was issued. To renew a license, the licensee must submit a completed renewal application, proof of continuing education and either a notice of employment or current bond / insurance.
