Should a riding hat be tight?
Riding hats are designed to have a secure, snug fit and not move on your head, however if your riding hat is too small, you may notice the following: The hat does not lock onto the back of your head. The hat does not cover the forehead sufficiently.
Why do riding hats have peaks?
Wide peak. A couple of our riding helmets come with a wide peak option. A wider brim or peak provides superior shade and is a great feature for protecting your face and neck from the sun (or rain!). Some riders also like the elegant look of a wide peak.
How do I know if my riding hat is up to standard?
Make sure you measure up before buying a new hat! Ideally, it should also have a quality assurance mark firmly fastened on its inner alongside the label that shows which standard the hat is tested to. Most hats specifically designed for children do not have VAT added to the price.
