Players can train at Runespan to gain between 16,500 experience an hour, with level 1 Runecrafting, and 93,000 experience an hour, with level 99 Runecrafting.

There are two main ways to earn experience and Runespan points; siphoning either creatures or concentrated energy nodes. Siphoning creatures can turn up to 5 essence into runes. Once the creature is drained, it gives 50 essence, regardless of the type of creature. Experience is awarded for siphoning.
