Remain on A606 until it splits and take the left hand turn onto Normanton Park Road towards Edith Weston and Rutland Water South Shore. The entrance to the car park is clearly signposted off this road on the right hand side, with the toilets on the right as you enter the car park.

Located at Rutland Water’s North Shore, Rutland Water beach provides 140 metres of sandy shoreline and a 2,800m2 area for you to paddle and swim in. Please bear in mind the beach is seasonal and is only operational in the summer months.

Rutland Water Park is open every day except Christmas Day and most attractions and activities are available every day from Good Friday until 31st October, when reduced hours are advertised. Barnsdale car park is closed 1st November to 1st March but all others are open throughout the year.

Can you take BBQ to Rutland Water?
BBQ’s: Rutland Water Park allows BBQ’s on site, excluding the nature reserve areas at Egleton and Lyndon, but only BBQ’s that do not leave a mark or scorch the grass. The rule is, as long as there is no trace of the BBQ after you have left, and you have cold water available for safety, then it’s fine.
Can dogs go to Rutland Water?
Absolutely, your four-legged friend is most welcome at Rutland Water, although they are not permitted in the nature reserves at Egleton and Lyndon or on the beach. Please follow our dog code: Lead by example – your dog must be on a lead at all times.
