How do I get a new ETAG?
If your Transport for NSW E-Toll tag is faulty due to a battery or technical problem, you can take it to a service centre and replace it free of charge. If you replace a tag at a Service Centre, you will no longer receive the physical tag over the counter.
How long does ETAG battery last?
The life of the battery in an e-TAG transponder is approximately 5 years. Customers are advised when a device is about to expire and to contact the issuer should their e-TAG not beep as they pass a tolling gantry, to receive a replacement device.
Can you use someone else’s ETAG?
No. You can only use one Tag in a vehicle at any one time. You must ensure you add / link your licence plate number to your Account. If you have multiple tags, make sure you only use one tag in a vehicle at any one time or you may be charged twice (or multiple times) for each trip.

What can I do with my old ETAG?
What do I do if my Tag is damaged? The Tag remains the property of E-Toll and the Tag must not be damaged, defaced or thrown away (fees apply for non-return of tags). All Tags must be returned either by post or in person at your nearest Service NSW Centre.
Can I add another car to my ETAG?
Can I add, remove or update vehicles on my account? Yes. Log on to your account and click on the ‘Manage my Account’ option and select ‘Tags and Vehicles’. You can then view all of the vehicles linked to your Account then add, edit or delete vehicles/Licence Plates.
How much is an additional ETAG?
Monthly account fee is $1.25 for first Tag PLUS $1.00 for second Tag PLUS $0.75 for third Tag PLUS $0.50 for all subsequent Tags.
How can I pay E toll without ETAG?
*Your Tag, Tagless or Commercial account can cover trips made up to 10 days ago on all toll roads in NSW or Victoria except for the Sydney Harbour Bridge & Tunnel (NSW) or EastLink (Victoria). To pay for past travel on these roads, you’ll need to buy a separate pass.
